HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Provide engineering design support, working closely with Application Engineers, contributing to designing the next generation of lighting and electronics products that are manufacturable and meet customer requirements along with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Utilize the escalation process when necessary in order to draw attention to, and help develop mitigation plans for risks to product development.
  • Utilize structured problem-solving methods to analyze and solve problems related to product failures throughout the life of the product (DFMEA, 8D’s etc.).
  • Support Program Managers in technical discussions with the customers and PDT meetings as required.
  • Support tooling/equipment tryouts, at suppliers and Rebo manufacturing sites.
  • Generate presentations for customers (internal and external) and management as required.
  • Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Adhere to design standards and procedures, while providing designs utilizing 2D and 3D tool.
  • You'll design injection molding plastic parts or lighting products based on the input from experienced Product and Application Engineers
  • Participate and provide input in design reviews
  • You'll utilize TeamCenter and 3DX to download, upload, and release data to specific OEMs. Internal data is also handled in Teamcenter
YOUR KEY ATTRIBUTES 
  •  You have a Bachelor’s degree focused in Mechanical Engineering, or Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/design with additional years of experience.
  • You have at least 5+years automotive product engineering experience with previous experience in the interior or exterior automotive/heavy truck lighting industry.
  • 5+ years creating 2D/3D data for injection molded plastic parts using CATIA V5 CAD Tool (i.e. 3-D WF, Detailing, Solids, Surfacing, Free Form Surfacing) .
  • You are able to specify, understand and interpret CAE reports from suppliers or internal departments (including but not limited to FEA, Optical simulations, injection mold flows, thermal simulations, etc.)
  • You can comfortably lead DFMEA development and discussions.
  • You are knowledgeable in the following areas:
    • Catia for evaluating design data.
    • Electronics.
    • Automotive Product Development Processes.
    • Engineering of automotive injection molded products.
    • Joining of injection molded components (sonic welding, vibration welding, laser welding, etc.)
    • Molding, secondary assembly, decorating (ie: vacuum metalizing), electronics, optics, prototyping methods, troubleshooting, quality process, all phases of APQP
    • DFM (Design for Manufacturability)
  • Can read, understand and develop GD&T as required for the product
  • You are accountable, and demonstrate integrity by delivering what is promised.
  • You find new and effective ways to streamline processes for max efficiency.
  • You are a self-driven team player with a can-do attitude ready to step up and help others without being asked.
  • You’re organized, highly efficient and know how to develop specific goals and prioritize with minimal supervision.
  • You are tech savvy and can utilize Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Travel as needed (<5%)
